To mark this year’s Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s largest ever street party with over 2 million attendees, Banks Caribbean Lager paired up with two leading Caribbean On Trade accounts, Trailer Happiness and The Beachcomber, to host a series of events across the three day celebration, using the occasion as an opportunity to cement themselves as one of the leading genuine Caribbean beers in the UK market.
Established in Barbados in 1961, Banks Beer is as authentic as it can get, with all export beer still brewed and bottled at their St Michael based brewery. With ‘Life Nice’ as their tag line, a phrase that Category Manager Charles Walcott says ‘captures the essence of the Caribbean people’, Banks beer is synonymous with Barbados (the majority of islanders even have shares in the business!), so it comes as no surprise that the brand has been given the seal of approval by both Trailer Happiness and The Beachcomber, two of the world’s most renowned cocktail bars.
Trailer Happiness, recently voted Best International Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail 2017 Spirited Awards, decided to collaborate with Banks during Notting Hill Carnival, an event that is typically flooded with UK brewed Caribbean lagers, due to the beer’s authenticity and desire to stay true to its Caribbean roots. With their venue located in the heart of the iconic Portobello Road, Trailer Happiness’ hand-made Caribbean shack-esque stand was surrounded by revellers from noon ‘til night, all ready to get their hands on an ice cold Banks Caribbean Lager.
The Beachcomber was next to endorse the brand, with not one, but two parties sponsored by Banks Beer. Located in West London, the Caribbean bar erected a mini shack outside their venue, enticing Carnival-goers to celebrate in true Caribbean style. And with The Beachcomber recently voted one of London’s best Tiki bars by the Evening Standard, it was the perfect collaboration.
Banks uses only the finest ingredients (malted barley and Galena and Styrian Goldings hops), and is brewed using only pure coral stone filtered Barbadian water, producing a beer with zesty aromas, a drying mouth feel, a hint of spice and a warming finish. Available in cases of 24x330ml, Banks can be purchased at leading wholesalers across the UK. If you would like more info on Banks, please contact info@instildrinks.co.uk
